A parish was established in 2013, with the name Union of Parishes of Couto de Baixo and Couto de Cima, as part of a national administrative reform, by aggregating the former parishes of Couto de Baixo and Couto de Cima.

It became known as Coutos de Viseu and, as seen in other parishes, there is also room here for cultivated pine forest, interspersed with some pockets of oak.
Particular emphasis is given to the magnificent fountain located at the beginning, in Masgalos.

We can also visit part of the ancient history in Lapa do Repilau and see the genealogical curiosity that is Campa da Ladroeira.
